First monograph of the artist on the occasion of the personal exhibition dedicated to him at LaM museum (Villeneuve d'Asq) from October 2022 to January 2023.
On the occasion of his exhibition at the LaM in the fall of 2022, Dilecta is publishing the first monograph of Étienne Chambaud.
Lâme, the title of Étienne Chambaud's first museum exhibition, associates the name of the museum with the blade, the object of cut, and the soul, the vital breath that sets things in motion. The artist presents a set of works from the last ten years, drawings from his childhood as well as new productions, some of which were created from elements taken from scientific and cultural institutions in the city of Lille. Lâme is an exhibition of contradictions, metamorphoses and hybridizations, all determining processes in the work of the artist, who takes fragments, cuts them, folds them, roughs them, transforms them or combines them to generate new forms and gaps in which thought can develop.
The book, co-published with the LaM, is presented, like the exhibition, as an intermingling of iconographic elements accompanied by notes written by the artist.
This first monograph also includes an essay by Mihnea Mircan on the body of work, a text by Tristan Garcia, a focus by Filipa Ramos on the video installation La Nuit Sauve, and a text by Vincent Normand.
