A mysterious atmosphere of calm and deceleration embraces visitors as they step into the exhibition Nude in the Landscape. With his multifaceted works, Ugo Rondinone has been enchanting the art world, and often the public sphere too, for close to thirty years now. The Belvedere 21 is now the first Austrian national museum to present an extensive solo show by the artist. What is more, it is not restricted to the main exhibition hall of the Belvedere 21, but also extends into the Upper Belvedere park.
For his exhibition at Belvedere 21 Rondinone has created a polyphonic cosmos consisting of fourteen wax figures (nudes), a two-part monumental work created especially for the location using earth (two standing landscapes with sunrise and sunset), a wall piece (cloud), sixty poems on paper (poems), three unicolor clocks (clocks) as well as the foil piece when the sun goes down and the moon comes up on the glass façade of the Belvedere 21.
