Catalogue of the exhibition at the Musée d'arts de Nantes, from 18 May to 30 August 2022.
Since the beginning of the 1990s, Angela Bulloch has developed a practice that aims to re-read the processes of conceptual art established in the 1960s, while questioning our attitudes and practices towards objects, particularly through the use of new technologies. While the artist proceeds by series of works, sound, colour and light are recurrent in his work.
The Musée d'arts de Nantes presents a central work by the Canadian artist, created for the exhibition. This specific work mixes the techniques of installation, sculpture, painting and sound, thwarting the monumentality of the place.
The book include views of the exhibition, an essay by the Dutch intellectual and curator Mieka Bal and an interview with the artist.
