Das staatliche Bauhaus Weimar und sein Leiter Liu Ye

This facsimile of the 1924 brochure "Das Staatliche Bauhaus Weimar und sein Leiter" is published on occasion of the exhibition Internationale Architektur by Liu Ye at Esther Schipper from September 11 to October 23, 2021. The inflammatory pamphlet originating from German Nationalist tendencies contained defamatory personal attacks against Walter Gropius. The impact of the pamphlet on the Weimar public was considerable; only a few months later, Gropius closed the Weimar school and reopened the Bauhaus in Dessau.
