Introduction

This work, conceived specifically for the Palazzo delle Esposizioni by Ugo Rondinone brings together diverse elements in a complex dramaturgy: installation, sculpture, photography and sound. A deep voice reads passages from the diaries written by Rondinone over the last few years. Walls made from fragments of mirrors transmit the image of a fragile reality. Shiny rubber clothes appear in the photographs with a strange absence of movement. In this muffled atmosphere, pervaded with a subtle nostalgia, even the life-sized clowns lying on their backs on the floor, are paralyzed in an inert lethargy.

A neon sign displaying the title of the exhibition is installed outside, on the terrace of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni.
