A Spurious Emission, 2007 (on the wall)
Video projection (color, stereo)
Duration 07:30 min
While driving through a parking lot of a highway rest stop the radio stations on Sala's car radio would automatically fluctuate, caused by radio airwave interference from large transport trucks. He wrote a musical score interpreting this experience which became the subject of the film Air Cushioned Ride (2006). Later, he filmed a group of musicians performing this score, which became this film, A Spurious Emission.

Plastic red buckets and white architect lamps
The unlikely pairing of desk lamps and plastic buckets creates a grouping of luminous objects. Characteristic of her continuous play with temporal displacements and the subjectivity of experience, Untitled, 1987/2015, conflates past and present.
