preemptive particles 2/4 pairs modified found pieces of perforated plastic board with two shuttlecocks precariously balanced on their surfaces.

The sculpture brings together disparate shapes and objects that suggest meaning. But the objects are not bound by their function but accrue meaning in the newfound relationships. The shuttlecocks may be part of a game, yet their significance lies in signifying abstract processes, ways of thinking and organizing knowledge, as in Kuri's sculpture recognizable and functional things become transformed into sculptural metaphors.
