The Light Pours Through combines a free-standing metal frame with an attached lamp. The metal structure forms a shape reminiscent of the frame of a bed standing on its head- or footboard. The lamp is attached to the upper part. In a reference to Martin Boyce's signature motif, many of the forms of the large-scale metal structure and of the lamp's frame are slightly angled to recall the shapes of the Martel brother's 1925 Concrete Trees from which, since 2005, Martin Boyce has developed a distinct formal vocabulary.
