In Meppayil's earliers works, gold wire is not embedded in gesso, but rather, extends outwards from the panel. In Two Ten, thicker lengths of gold wire bridge a grid of holes, surfacing and tightly bent to the surface of the panel. Both patterns are arranged in the middle of the painting and underline the square form of the grid.
