Martin Honert "Schlafsaal", Fragment, 2010
Wood, paper, aluminum, acrylic glass, duratrans, light installation
230 x 240 x 280 cm
Based on an original photographic negative, Schlafsaal, Fragment refers to a dormitory from Honert’s boarding school days. The work emulates the effect of a photographic negative by reversing light and shade: a bright glow emanates from below the dormitory bed with their blue frame and light orange mattress. Martin Honert addresses photography as a medium, making visible in three-dimensional form effects closely associated with photographic images.
