La forma del cielo nella mia casa consists of a small bronze sculpture in the shape of a trapezoid bas-relief. Its surface is covered in thick layers, showing where the fingers of the artist modelled the clay sculpture prior to the casting process. Francesco Gennari’s works find their origin in his observation of everyday life and the elements that surround him. With La forma del cielo nella mia casa, the artist intends to represent the shape of the sky, as seen from his bedroom window. The contour of the sculpture was determined by the contour of the roof and the window delimiting the skyline. Gennari plays with the contrast between the ethereal and intangible nature of the sky which is materialized in a solid bronze piece. The surface is left uncoated to allow its color to change with time just as the color of the sky changes every day.
