David Claerbout Radio Piece (Hong Kong) in collaboration with RAY Fotografieprojekte Frankfurt/RheinMain, 2015
Single channel video projection, color, binaural sound over headphones
Duration 11:40 min
An audiovisual installation on the intersection of mental and physical space, primarily using images of Hong Kong’s notorious Kowloon, the walled city (now taken down) that lacked room up to the point of being inhumane. The visual part of the work is an uninterrupted backtracking camera, smoothly moving from one type of space into another. The sound on the other hand ‘depicts’ those same spaces as something internal, inside the heads.
