Julia Scher Girl Dog (Hybrid), 2005
Marble
75 x 45,5 x 22 cm
Girl Dog (Hybrid) is a series of unique hand-carved marble sculpture of female Doberman dogs with cat paws and facial features, and human shoulders.. Made from rose-colored marble with light striations, each dog has finely chiseled features, some have a black marble collar and/or eyes. In addition, each dog has been given an individual name, their common first letter—M—connoting the breeder's long line of litters. (Breeders name litters in alphabetical order beginning with A, B, C etc.) This dog is called Martina.
