Isa Melsheimer Habitat VIII, 2024
Isa Melsheimer's Habitat VIII is from a series of ceramic works that are reminiscent of heads, headgear (for example helmets, horns) or wigs but are also always a part of an architectural structure. Placed on a crisscrossed base, similar to a scaffolding, the work represents metaphorically the protection awarded to thoughts by the shelter of a building. Unlike other works by Melsheimer, the architectural structure is not based on an existing building.
