Stones, sanding belts, metal
ø 40 cm approx., 2 parts
A roll of sanding paper balances between two large boulders. The layers of the tape fan out in neat geometric pattern as the roll has become compressed. Installed at eye-level on a wall, the heavy rocks appear suspended, freed from gravity. Color and texture of the two materials contrast but also begin to harmonize: as if the objects were exchanging properties.
