Pierre Huyghe Role Announcer, 2016

The Announcer stands on the opposite side of the door handle or at the right of the entrance of a space (in the middle of the entrance if it is very large). The Announcer welcomes the person who wants to enter the space. He says "Hello" and follows with "Can I have your full name?" in the local language (in the case of Art Basel 2016 English has been chosen). When the person answers, the Announcer opens the door with his hand, not moving from his original position. After the person has passed the Announcer makes one or two steps into the space, loudly declares a name, and closes the door (if there is one). The person realizes the name is not their own. The action is repeated.
