Light, colorful sculptures by Nathan Carter are inspired by the motifs ranging from discovery and science fiction scenarios to multichannel radio communication systems. Nathan Carter combines complex narratives with formal references to 20th century cultural history, especially American Modernism and the visual language of Alexander Calder, Jean Arp and Joan Miró. Nathan Carter’s playful sculptures possess a crafty, tongue-in-cheek formalism.
