Pythagoras Theorem belongs to Angela Bulloch's Rules Series, an ongoing conceptual project, which the artist began in 1993. Its text draws on the well-known mathematical theorem about calculating the sides of a right-angled triangle by the ancient Greek mathematician Pythagoras (approx. 570-500 BCE).
The work is conceptual and has no pre-defined form. The owner has the right to execute and reproduce the work in any desired form, medium or size, and the execution of the work can be undertaken independently of the artist.
