Liam Gillick Screened Development, 2014
Powder-coated aluminum, acrylic glass
100 x 75 x 20 cm
Screened Development is 100 cm high and includes two connected parallel elements made from powder-coated aluminum frames, 20 cm apart and 75 cm wide, that are subdivided horizontally by beams. Brightly colored Plexiglas panels are inserted in the sections created by the horizontal divisions of the free-standing sculpture. The work deploys references to the built environment found in factory and office spaces as basis for a new form of abstraction.
