The importance of intergenerational knowledge and understanding between one’s elders and the new generation, an idea significant to Thomias Radin’s poetics, is exemplified by the magnified wooden domino tiles that constitute this installation. The oversized dominoes pay tribute to everyday life in Guadeloupe. They remind us, both the old and young, of the game played by people throughout their lifetime. Although deceptively simple in its rules, to play dominoes well requires both mathematical skills and cunning strategy.
