Thomias Radin Sky Turn Pink, 2024
116.4 x 87.1 x 5.2 cm (framed)
Comprised of oil on linen and set in a hand-carved wooden frame, Sky Turn Pink demonstrates Radin’s exploration of movement. Upon looking at the work, the viewer’s attention is immediately caught by the color that characterizes this composition; a sky that, caught at dusk, gradually turns into shaded variations of pink –rendering the main figure into a dark almost voided space. The span of this change in color in the setting is not bound to the planes of the painting, here instead, the frame itself represents the three-dimensionality Radin searches for, with sides gems continuing the narration outside the ordinary physical limits of a painting, he presents how the turning colors of the sky are boundless like movement.
