The intimately-scaled work is characteristic of Sun Yitian's most iconic works, oversized mass-produced toys. The bright yellow toy elephant is placed on a table and set against a night sky. It appears to spurt water from its trunk. The work combines the playful artificiality of the artist's depiction of objects with her series of paintings with more naturalistic-looking landscapes. The little elephant is represented as a hybrid, both as artificial and as active: while the yellow color precludes it being an actual animal, the flowing water suggests it could be a fountain.
