Sun Yitian is best known for her paintings of monumentally enlarged mass-produced objects lovingly rendered in colorful acrylic paint. This painting depicts a monumental inflatable structure. In a departure from Sun Yitian's previous depictions of such inflatable buildings or bouncing castles, there are visible signs of use, even decay visible. The netting in the foreground has been ripped in places and the plastic flaps moved apart to allow access. Another development is the more naturalistic landscape in which the building sits. The ground is cracked from drought, while a dramatically-lit night sky contrasts with the bright yellow of the shelter's front panel.
The sense of unreality is heightened by the subtle highlights on the surface of the inflated shape that suggests the sheen of reflecting lights on a plastic surface, a recurring reference that attests to the artist's work from staged photographs taken by herself.
