What time is it?
Esther Schipper is pleased to present an exclusive Online Viewing Room on the subject of time.
Measured in objective, though intrinsically inexact, units and yet experienced with subjective fluidity, time can stretch and contract, linger and vanish. The selected works explore its variances: personal, cultural, historical, even cosmic. Such categories though understate the simultaneity of objective and subjective criteria, the uneven flow of time within individual lives, distinct societies, and different periods.
The works in our Frieze London Online Viewing Room explore how we keep time, experience its duration, whether its passing lets us despair or gives us hope.
Featuring works by Angela Bulloch, Ceal Floyer, Simon Fujiwara, Ryan Gander, General Idea, Francesco Gennari, Liam Gillick, Andrew Grassie, Pierre Huyghe, Ann Veronica Janssens, Roman Ondak, Philippe Parreno, Ugo Rondinone, Karin Sander, Julia Scher, Daniel Steegmann Mangrané, Hito Steyerl and Tao Hui.
